Daniel 11:1–45 (NASB95) — 1 “In the )first year = 520 B.C.) of Darius the Mede, I arose to be an encouragement and a protection for him. 2 “And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, three more kings are going to arise in Persia. Then a fourth will gain far more riches than all of them; as soon as he becomes strong through his riches, he will arouse the whole empire against the realm of Greece. 

(Alexander the great 336-334-323) conquer the Persian Empire.

3 “And a mighty (king = Alexander the Great) will arise, and he will rule with great authority and do as he pleases. 4 “But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four points of the compass, though not to his own descendants, nor according to his authority which he wielded, for his sovereignty will be uprooted and given to others besides them. 

(323-60 B.C. After the death, of Alexander the Great. The Greek empire is divided between the north and south. The king of the South, Ptolemy I Soter, a Greek general, ruling Egypt.

The northern territory of the Greek empire, Was controlled by Seleucid Kings.)

5 “Then the (king = Ptolemy I) of the South will grow strong, along with one of his princes who will gain ascendancy over him and obtain dominion; his domain will be a great dominion indeed. 6 “After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will come to the king of the North to carry out a peaceful arrangement. But she will not retain her position of power, nor will he remain with his power, but she will be given up, along with those who brought her in and the one who sired her as well as he who supported her in those times. 7 “But one of the descendants of her line will arise in his place, and he will come against their army and enter the fortress of the (Seleucid king of the North), and he will deal with them and display great strength. 8 “Also their gods with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and gold he will take into captivity to Egypt, and he on his part will refrain from attacking the king of the North for some years. 9 “Then the latter will enter the realm of the king of the South, but will return to his own land. 10 “His sons will mobilize and assemble a multitude of great forces; and one of them will keep on coming and overflow and pass through, that he may again wage war up to his very fortress. 11 “The king of the South will be enraged and go forth and fight with the king of the North. Then the latter will raise a great multitude, but that multitude will be given into the hand of the former. 12 “When the multitude is carried away, his heart will be lifted up, and he will cause tens of thousands to fall; yet he will not prevail. 

(between 323-60 B.C. conflicts between the north and south. Eventually led to the rise ofRoman Empire. Rome’s military strength, begins expanding into the Northern and southern regions of the Greek Empire.)

13 “For the (king =Antiochus IV Epiphanes) of the North will again raise a greater multitude than the former, and after an interval of some years he will press on with a great army and much equipment. 

(Between 170-168 B.C. The northern Seleucids Greek king, Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Successful military campaign, defeated his Egyptian rival, the Ptolemaic King of the South. 

 Between 167-160 B.C. the Jewish religious zealots. Maccabean (Hebrew: מרד החשמונאים) began a violent rebellion, against  the Seleucid Empire. In response, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, defiled the temple in Jerusalem. Some theologians mistakenly believe, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, set up the abomination that brings desolation? The Maccabean resistance continued, even though the Seleucids, kings, retain control over the Judean territory. And Greek hellenistic religious beliefs, continue to affect Jewish life.

By 134 B.C. The Maccabees, achieved religious and governing  independence.   

Earlier 164-134 B.C., the Jews formed an alliance with Rome. The Jewish descendants of the Maccabee,Hasmonean dynasty, pledged assistance to Rome, in their battles against Egypt.)

14 “Now in those times many will rise up against the king of the South; the violent (ones =Maccabee,Hasmonean dynasty( among your people will also lift themselves up in order to fulfill the vision, but they will fall down. 

(60-44 B.C. Julius Caesar, as Senator and 1st Caesar, of the Roman Empire. Dominating over Northern and southern, Territories from Greece to Egypt. 

Earlier in 58 B.C. Ptolemy XII Father of Cleopatra, alliance with Rome. 

In 50-48 B.C. Julius Caesar defeats his Roman opposition Pompey. Julius Caesar pursues Pompey, to Egypt. Pompey is assassinated. 

And in 48 B.C. Julius Caesar establishes Cleopatra as queen of Egypt, after defeating her opposition. 

In 44 B.C. Julius Caesar assassinated.  

Then, 42-30 B.C. a Roman general, mark Anthony, makes an alliance with Cleopatra in Egypt.) 

15 “Then the (48 B.C. king = Julius Caesar( of the North will come, cast a siege  and capture a well-fortified city; and the forces of the South will not stand their ground, not even their choicest troops, for there will be no strength to make a stand. 16 “But (42-30 B.C. he = Marc Anthony) who comes after him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to withstand him; he will also stay for a time in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand. 17 “(He = Augusta Caesar) will set his face to come with the power of his whole kingdom, bringing with him a proposal of peace which (he = Augustus Caesar) will put into effect; 

(almost 30 years earlier, Julius Caesar formed the original alliance, 58-30 B.C.) With, (he =Ptolemy XII) will also give (48 B.C. him = Julius Caesar) the daughter of women to ruin it. But (she = Cleopatra( will not take a stand for (31-30 B.C. him = Augusta Caesar) or be on (his = Augusta Caesar) side. 

(last queen of Egypt,Cleopatra seduces a Roman general, Mark Anthony, and supports him and pursuing control over the Roman empire. Marc Anthony is defeated by Augustus the Roman Cesar. Marc Anthony and Cleopatra commit suicide in 30 B.C.)

18 “Then (he = Marc Anthony) will turn his face to the coastlands and capture many. But a (commander = Augustus Caesar( will put a stop to his scorn against (him = Augusta Caesar); moreover, (he = Augusta Caesar) will repay (him = mark Anthony) for (his = mark Anthony) scorn. 19 “So (he = mark Anthony) will turn his face toward the fortresses of (his = Augusta Caesar) own land, but (he = Marc Anthony) will stumble and fall and be found no more. 

(30 B.C. - 12 A.D. Augustus Caesar maintained Roman Authority, over his empire. Establishing servant kings over Greek and Egyptian territory. Earlier, 37-34 B.C. Herod, and Roman military, remove the last remnant of the Maccabee’s,Hasmonean Kingdom. Herod declares himself  King, over Jerusalem and corresponding territories. 

Lk 1:5; Mt 2:1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 16; 17; 18; 19; Herod the great, attempted to murder, the newborn Messiah Yeshua, in 5 B.C. Then, herod died, a couple of months later, approximately in Feb, 4 B.C.

 The Roman empire, employed bribery and political intrigue, to manipulate people and rulers. From 9-11 A.D. The Roman general Tiberius, and forced Roman rule, over Egypt and any Middle East opposition. And Tiberius became Caesar, of the Roman empire, in 12 A.D. During a time of relative peace. 

Lk 3:1; 2; 23; 22:1-2; 66; 67; 68; 69; 70; 71; 23:20; 21; 22; 23; 24;  In 30 A.D. The Roman (governor = Pontius Pilate( of Jerusalem, allowed the Jewish religious leaders, to unjustly condemn to death, Messiah Yeshua, by crucifixion.

20 “Then in (his = Marc Anthony) place one will arise who will send an oppressor through the Jewel of his kingdom; yet within a few days he will be shattered, though not in anger nor in battle. 21 “In his place a despicable (37 B.C. person = Herod the great) will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility,

(in 63 B.C. Pompey originally conquered, Maccabee’s,Hasmonean = kingdom. Leaving King Hyrcanus, uncle of Antigonus  By 37 B.C. Herod received Roman appointment to rule Jerusalem.) and seize the by intrigue. 22 “The overflowing (forces = between 37-34 B.C. Herod defeated the remaining Hasmonean King Antigonus.) will be flooded away and shattered,  before(him = Herod’s Family dynasty, continued during Roman imperial rule, of 30 B.C.-12 A.D.  Augusta Caesar, and then Tiberius Caesar). And also the (30 A.D. prince =.Messiah Yeshua = of the covenant). 

(after Messiah Yeshua’s, death in 30 A.D. The gospel spread throughout the Roman Empire. Christians were often persecuted, especially by Nero the emperor of Rome. 

Rev 6:1; 2; In 325 A.D. Constantine Caesar of Rome, established his universal Catholicism. Catholicism opposed Messiah Yeshua’s, covenant “Good News” and promised kingdom restoration.  )

23 “After an alliance is made with him he will practice deception, and he will go up and gain power with a small force of people. 24 “In a time of tranquility he will enter the richest parts of the realm, and he will accomplish what his fathers never did, nor his ancestors; he will distribute plunder, booty and possessions among them, and he will devise his schemes against strongholds, but only for a time. 

(325-642 B.C. The Roman Empire, prosper through commerce, trade, and even merchandised Christian shrines for worshipers. the wealth and influence of the Roman Empire faded. Moral decay and political corruption, divided and weaken the empire. And the power vacuum, within the middle East. Led to the rise of Islam conquering Egypt and Jerusalem between, 638-642 A.D. By 1453 A.D. islam conquered Constantinople Turkey. The king of the North, is now represented by Roman Catholicism, protected by the kings of Europe. The king of the south, is represented by the ottoman Turkish Islamic Empire.)

25 “(He = Holy Roman Catholic empire) will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South with a large army; so the (king of the South = ottoman Turkish Islamic Empire) will mobilize an extremely large and mighty army for war; but he will not stand, for schemes will be devised against him. 26 “Those who eat his choice food will destroy him, and his army will overflow, but many will fall down slain.

(from 700 A.D. Throughout the dark ages. European Roman Catholicism, continued in conflict against the expanding Islamic Empire. The crusades 1099 A.D. temporarily gain control of Jerusalem. Later, 1187 A.D. Islam would recapture Jerusalem. European kings were able to stabilize their Territories. But Islam maintain control over the middle East. Hundreds of years later, 1600-1900 A.D. The rise of the British Empire, has attempted to make several peace treaties, with Islamic control territories. Between World War I and two, Jewish immigrants migrated back to the land of Judah in Jerusalem. In 1949, the Jewish state of Israel was established. The British empire and United States, often provided tentative support for the newly established state of Israel. While European Roman Catholicism, openly oppose Judaism, and Messiah Yeshua’s covenant “Good news”, of His Kingdom restoration. )

27 “As for both kings, their hearts will be intent on evil, and they will speak lies to each other at the same table; but it will not succeed, for the end is still to come at the appointed time. 28 “Then he will return to his land with much plunder; but his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action and then return to his own land. 

(the Catholic pope, and European Union leaders, have attempted to make peace agreements with Islamic dictators. Islamic violence in the Middle East, focuses on Jerusalem and the Jewish state of Israel. Islamic terrorist continue to attack Israel. And war in the Middle East escalates. 

Daniel 9:27; Prophetically, the year 2028 A.D. On Atonement, may witness a peace agreement. A European Union leader and catholic pope Will orchestrate a religious tolerance, between christianity, islam, and Judaism. Allowing a temple reconstruction in Jerusalem and animal sacrifices. This temporary peace agreement, Will last approximately 3 1/2 years, then war will resume. When Islamic countries attack Jerusalem.

29 “At the appointed time he will return and come into the South, but this last time it will not turn out the way it did before. 

(Daniel 11:30; Ge 10:1; 2; 4; 5; identifies the land of “Kittim”, which is the American continent, where the descendants of kittim settled, after Noah’s flood. The British colonist, Journey to kittim, according to the prophecy in:

Nu 24:24; fulfilling prophecy, United States military, will assist, the Jewish state of Israel.) When Islam breaks the peace agreement, then the European Union Will attempt to interfere in the conflict.

30 “For ships of Kittim will come against him; therefore he will be disheartened and will return and become enraged at the holy covenant and take action; so he will come back and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant. 

(the E.U. leader, returns to Europe, angrily launches a nuclear strike, against the United States, because the U.S. Interfered in the Middle East conflict. On the evening of April 25th 2032, massive nuclear detonations, over the United States, will begin the first four trumpets of: 

Revelation 8:6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; the United States is incinerated. And 1/3 of the population of the Earth will die. 

Rev 8:13; 9:1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; Then the E.U. will rapidly attack Islamic countries. And conquer Jerusalem, with the intent of violating, Messiah Yeshua’s, Holy Covenant.  )

31 “Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. 32 “By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. 33 “Those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many; yet they will fall by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder for many days. 34 “Now when they fall they will be granted a little help, and many will join with them in hypocrisy. 35 “Some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge and make them pure until the end time; because it is still to come at the appointed time. 

(2 Thessalonians 2:1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; the “End Time”, E.U. Liter, is the antichrist. Who, proclaims, himself, to be god.

36 “Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he will prosper until the indignation is finished, for that which is decreed will be done. 37 “He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all. 38 “But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures. 39 “He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price. 40 “At the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them and pass through. 41 “He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall; but these will be rescued out of his hand: Edom, Moab and the foremost of the sons of Ammon. 42 “Then he will stretch out his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape. 43 “But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels. 

(revelation 9:12; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; 18; 19; 20; 18:8; 9; 10; At the “End” of 3 1/2 year, Tribulation, satan’s antichrist leader, will hear the warning, of a 200 million man army, approaching Jerusalem. Also, a preemptive nuclear strike, has devastated Rome and most of Europe.
